All Over! Finally.

The semester is officially over for me. I just came back from my last class, which I can only characterize as intense. This happens to be my environmental psychology class...the one I fondly remember with nothing less than intense dislike. The professor announced he will no longer be teaching this class, since his analysis of the course survey shows that he is incompetent as a professor. He also put up on the overhead several anonymous comments from the survey, one of which was mine. It was....not the nicest one there. At least I was just being honest, which is what you're supposed to do when you're giving feedback on a crappy teacher. Oh well, I'm sure he'll be much better off just sticking to his research and staying far away from students.

Earlier this morning I had my Dangerous Earth presentation, which also didn't go quite as well as I had hoped, but I think we did okay. The major part of our grade for that comes from the written report, so I'm not too worried about it. We were the only group to actually finish within the 15 minute time limit, so that's good. Some groups were just cut off in the middle of their presentations.

All I have to do tomorrow is finish writing my social work paper and pack. Jen and I leave here at 4:30 in the morning on Saturday. I can't wait to be sailing in the Whitsundays!

One Day of School Left!!!

I don't really have much to report except that there's only one day of school left this semester!!! I'm so excited. Pajamas and sleep, here I come! Not really. Actually, it's more like Whitsundays, followed by lots of typing and studying. On Saturday Jen and I are leaving for our sailing trip in the Whitsunday Islands, which will be really nice. The only thing I'm not so excited about is wearing a stingersuit every time I get in the water, but I suppose the alternative (not wearing one, getting stung by a killer jellyfish, and dying) is a little bit worse. Killer jellies aside, I am most definitely looking forward to relaxing and tanning. I'm starting to blend in with the wall again. Whoever I got the idea from to go to cold Victoria instead of sunny Queensland for college this semester should be severely reprimanded.

Another note-worthy incident occurred yesterday. No, I did not trip up or down any stairs, nor did I run into any more walls (although that bruise on my ankle has slowly migrated down into my foot, and my lower leg is a rather disturbing shade of yellow). I went to the library and checked out 11 books! I better get an A on this schizophrenia paper. I'm putting way too much effort into it to get anything less. I'm even going to have it done a whole week before it's due! This is unheard of in my world. Everyone knows I get papers done the night before or the morning they're due. They just come out better that way. However, since I'll be gone until the day before this paper is due and I don't want to think about it at all on this trip, I've decided that getting it done beforehand is the best course of action.

Another first will be occurring tomorrow: I have to give an oral presentation on the flooding of the Mississippi River in 1993 for my Dangerous Earth class. True, it's a group project and my part only has to be 3 minutes long, but it's still rather nerve-wracking. I hate talking in class. It's even worse when it's made formal, and counts as a rather large chunk of my overall grade. My solution: put lots of pictures in the powerpoint. Everyone likes seeing flood pictures, and it takes up time that I could be speaking.

So, since today is a rather yucky, chilly, windy, and rainy day, I should probably get up and shower and continue reading through those 11 books, since I only managed to get through one last night. Note to self: reading about auditory hallucinations right before you go to bed is not a good idea unless you want some trippy dreams.
