It's Friday!!!!

Good news on Spring Break plans: Mel, Boosh, and Steve are "thinking" about coming with me up to Cairns! I put thinking in quotes because Steve basically said yes, Mel's definitely in and trying to convince Boosh to go. She told him we'd do Slim in 6 every day from now til then (which is a whole 6 weeks) and then buy new bikinis. Mom should be happy-- can't complain I'm not doing exercise!

Well, this weekend I'll be busy: I actually have assignments due! I already read my social work readings for Monday. I have a biology activity due on Tuesday and a psychology one due Thursday. Dangerous Earth gave out our final projects-- my group has to write a report and do a presentation comparing the floods in Bangladesh in 1998 and the Mississippi in 1993. Another group got Hurricanes Mitch and Andrew. That would've been a good one to do. So this weekend I'll be researching for that too, and I should look at the social work midterm paper. I think I'm going to do child abuse, so that I can do adult mental health for the final paper. Should be easy enough since I had a whole course on adult disorders last semester.

Tonight I'm going to a real footy game (not that Whitley College's footy team isn't real....) at the MCG (Melbourne Cricket Ground). I already won a prize for being the fastest to report what Collingwood's mascot/nickname is!! I don't know what the prize is though. We'll see tonight I guess. I think the rest of this weekend I have rehearsals for Guys and Dolls too. And Sunday's the footy game, and if we win I will most likely go out with everyone else afterwards. Hmmm. Since it seems I will have a very busy weekend, I think I'm going to wake Mel up and get started on Slim in 6.

Things I Left Out of the Last Post

Unfortunately I decided not to go to the ball. Mel's pictures look like it was a lot of fun, but I'm still kind of glad I chose not to go because I definitely would not have made it to my 10AM practical for Dangerous Earth, which ended up being graded.

Also, I forgot to mention that on our girls' day out, Mel, Lara, and I went to the Rialto, which is a tall building with an observatory on the top. We got there just as the sun was setting so we got to see the city as the sun set. It was really pretty. We took lots of pictures, which are already up on the site.

And as a random new note: yesterday we won the footy again, which puts us in the finals (I think...but I could be wrong. You know how good I am at following sports). I went to the supermarket with Mel, Boosh, and Steve, and I BOUGHT SALAD!!!! YAY!!! I was really excited. I haven't eaten any yet, but just having the oil and vinegar sitting on my shelf brings a smile to my face. After the supermarket, we all went back to Boosh's room and hung out til dinner, and then after dinner, until we went to Puggs (a pub). I like the irony of scheduling my classes so I can go out on Thursday nights and not worry about getting to class on Fridays....and then coming here and discovering that they all go out on Sunday nights instead. I didn't get back too late though, but Mel and I still didn't make it to our 9AM lecture. It's okay though because they're recorded and put online. We made it to the tute, which is the important part. So now I'm going to take a nap so that I'll be awake during my really boring biology lecture in 2 hours.
